Some people don’t think of a bar crawl when they think of cancer fundraisers, but cancer survivor Deb Miller thinks it’s a unique way to get people to come out and support a good cause.

A Duck Drop will kick off the event at 10 a.m. Aug. 13. The Chemo Crawl begins at 3 p.m. at OurGuest Inn & Suites in downtown Port Clinton, and participants will stop at participating restaurants, bars and establishments throughout the event.

Anyone can participate by purchasing a $10 Chemo Crawl card, which you bring with you to each stop — cleverly called “Treatments.” Bars and restaurants will host a variety of specials for event participants, including the “Chemo Cosmo.”

Participating establishments include OurGuest Inn & Suites (220 E. Perry St.), McCarthy’s Restaurant & Pub (101 Madison St.), Slater’s Madison Street Pub (111 Madison St.), Big Sky Saloon (117 Madison St.), Traveler’s Bar & Grill (17 N. Monroe St.), The Jet Express (3 N. Monroe St.) and Kokomo Bay (40 Madison St.).

The final location of the night is Mango Mama’s (40 Madison St.), where participants can enjoy live music from Ron Howard and Cruisin’ from 8 p.m.-12 a.m. Participants will also be able to enter the grand prize drawing.

All proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the American Cancer Society.
