If you want to get out and about this weekend but don't have a lot of dough to spend, that's okay. This Funcoast top five list is all about free events, including festivals, live music, a park dedication, waterfront entertainment and one of the hardest working bands around.
1.) Festival of the Fish

The Festival has many special attractions, including a Queens Contest, fishing contest, 5K run, sand castle contest, Crazy Craft Race, kids’ games and activities, foods and crafts. There will also be a Father’s Day parade and dusk-lighted boat parade on the Vermilion River. The series will feature a different local performer every Friday night from June 17 through September 2, so be sure to check back to see when your favorite artists are playing. Either way, you’ll be able to enjoy a great view, great company and great music. Also, the series is extending itself to include five more concerts in 2011. Good stuff!

Why you should go: Because they are completely awesome. And really, if you want a chance to see a band who’s really shaking up the local music scene, where else would you go?
