WHAT: The Huron Park Splash Pad
WHEN: 10 a.m.-9 p.m., every day through Labor Day
WHERE: Huron Park, Corner of Hancock St., Monroe St. and Huron Ave., Sandusky
The Huron Park turned on the Splash Pad May 27, and it will stay on through Labor Day. This is the third year in a row the Huron Park is providing the Splash Pad, and it’s doubtful it will be that last.
“I drive by every day to and from work and it’s usually packed,” said Sandusky Recreation Division Supervisor Jaclene Bahnsen. According to Bahnsen, the Splash pad is very popular among families in the area, including her own.
The Splash Pad is open every day from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and is free to the public, which makes it — as well as Huron Park in general — a great destination for families on a budget.
"It’s really good for families who don’t have a pool, or can’t afford to go to Soak City,” said Bahnsen.
There are even restrooms available, so you don’t have to worry about rushing home soaking wet when one of the kids suddenly has to go to the bathroom.
