2011 RCA Winners: Best Place for Breakfast

Whether you're a eggs and bacon kind of person or a fan of piping hot biscuits covered in gravy, our four winners (yes, four) have you covered. FIRST PLACE: Dianna’s Deli

Where: 3002 Milan Rd., Sandusky

1.)    What do you think made you a finalist in the Readers’ Choice Awards?

We got nominated for our quality of food, great prices and exceptional service.

2.)    What’s one unique thing about your business (a specific menu item, a special service) that people would be surprised to know you offer?

We have to keep things fresh in order to keep up with the other businesses on Milan Road and we do periodically offer buy one, get one free specials.

3.)    What’s your favorite thing about the Northcoast Ohio area?

I love to be on the water, the fun atmosphere in the summertime and seeing so many tourists visiting Sandusky and checking Dianna’s out.

4.)    Besides your own business, what’s your favorite thing to do/place to go in the area?

I like to get of town whenever I can and visit Cleveland with friends as well as frequenting Put-In-Bay Island in the summer.

5.)    Do you have anything in particular you’d like to tell the Funcoast.com readers?

We appreciate all the business that we have gotten for the past thirteen years. I came to Sandusky right from Greece when I was only thirteen years old and I hope to be here for many more years to come.

SECOND PLACE: Jolly Donut

1.)    What do you think made you a finalist in the Readers’ Choice Awards?

We have a friendly ambience, great service from my courteous staff and the food’s pretty good too.

2.)    What’s one unique thing about your business (a specific menu item, a special service) that people would be surprised to know you offer?

I think people would be surprised to know we have a few Italian items on our menu as well, like our Veal Parmesan.

3.)    What’s your favorite thing about the Northcoast Ohio area?

I love the summertime here, all the people that I get to meet in town for Cedar Point and especially Ohio Bike Week.

4.)    Besides your own business, what’s your favorite thing to do/place to go in the area?

I just enjoy taking a backyard vacation whenever I can, lounging in the sun wherever it’s shining.

5.)    Do you have anything in particular you’d like to tell the Funcoast.com readers?

Thank you for all the votes, this our first time being nominated and this my first year as the owner and I couldn’t be happier with the business so far.

1.)    What do you think made you a finalist in the Readers’ Choice Awards?

It’s our top quality breakfast, our superb staff, excellent service and you can always rely on having a great meal here.

2.)    What’s one unique thing about your business (a specific menu item, a special service) that people would be surprised to know you offer?

We only use Toft’s milk in our batter for buttermilk pancakes and we have staff members that have been with Perkins for forty years. You can ask for a more devoted staff than the one we have here.

3.)    What’s your favorite thing about the Northcoast Ohio area?

I love being able to see all the seasons change and getting to meet all the different tourists that visit this town every summer for all the attractions.

4.)    Besides your own business, what’s your favorite thing to do/place to go in the area?

I love to golf and my favorite course has to be Eagle Creek in Norwalk, but I also go to Thunderbird Hills in Huron and courses in Sandusky.

5.)    Do you have anything in particular you’d like to tell the Funcoast.com readers?

I want to thank everyone that voted for us and we will continue to bring you the best breakfast in this area.

It’s our consistency of service and the quality of our products that keeps folks coming back.

2.)    What’s one unique thing about your business (a specific menu item, a special service) that people would be surprised to know you offer?

We treat our guests just like family because that’s what they are to us.

3.)    What’s your favorite thing about the Northcoast Ohio area?

All the nearby attractions and finally getting a night off.

4.)    Besides your own business, what’s your favorite thing to do/place to go in the area?

I love to do my own landscaping and have time to get some reading done.

5.)    Do you have anything in particular you’d like to tell the Funcoast.com readers?

Come out to Bob Evans in Norwalk and enjoy our great menu and wonderful servers.
