1.)    What do you think made you a finalist in the Readers’ Choice Awards?

I think we are finalists because we have a great fitness facility and we offer a lot of fitness programs and group exercise classes. We have incentives here, and we are really a very close-knit group with all of our members and really personalized and friendly. I think we just give an overall good experience.

2.)    What’s one unique thing about your business (a specific menu item, a special service) that people would be surprised to know you offer?

I think the biggest thing is that here with our membership all of our group exercise classes are included, and we offer over 45 different classes each week. And again, it’s all free if you’re a member.

3.)    What’s your favorite thing about the Northcoast Ohio area?

I think it’s a great area, people-wise, plus we have a lot of attractions here in the summer with Cedar Point. It’s a great vacation spot, meeting new people, all of it.

4.)    Besides your own business, what’s your favorite thing to do/place to go in the area?

I’d say my favorite fun place to go is definitely Cedar Point beach to play volleyball and all of that. But I would say Cedar Point and Kalahari are really fun to do with families.

5.)    Do you have anything in particular you’d like to tell the Funcoast.com readers?

Basically thanks for the nominations, and to all of the people that voted for us we thank you and we hope to continue to see a lot of new members here in our facility so that they can really enjoy the great experience that we have to offer. And we have an awesome staff!

SECOND PLACE: YMCA

Where: 2101 W. Perkins Ave., Sandusky

Well, we’re very honored. We’ve had the privilege of winning the award for several years, we just greatly appreciate the people, and they seem to appreciate us.

2.)    What’s one unique thing about your business (a specific menu item, a special service) that people would be surprised to know you offer?

I think the wide variety of things that we have. We have a wide variety of facilities such as swimming pools, a gymnasium and workout areas, but also the large variety of programs that we offer. We have preschool programs, we have after school care, we teach swimming and sports and so we have something hopefully for everyone.

The people! They are genuine and friendly.

4.)    Besides your own business, what’s your favorite thing to do/place to go in the area?

1.)    What do you think made you a finalist in the Readers’ Choice Awards?

Members knowing that we care. We pride ourselves on being friendly and courteous to all of our members. Talking to your members goes a long way. We like to know how their workouts are going and what progress they have made. If not, then we offer suggestions to help them achieve their goals. We also listen to their suggestions to improve our club.
