William M. Magyar, 82, of Bellevue died Monday, June 28, 2010, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Lorain, June 1, 1928, son of the late Steve and Mary (Feher) Magyar. He graduated from Lorain High School and entered into the service. He served our country during World War II.
Bill was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Bellevue. He also belonged to UAW Local 913, American Legion Post 83, AMVETS Post 47, VFW Post 1238, and Fraternal Order of Eagles 490 where he served as past president.
He worked as a machinist at New Departure for 36 years, until his retirement in 1991.
On April 1, 1953, he married Verna M. (Biro) and she survives in Bellevue. Also surviving are their children, John (Diane) Magyar of Clyde, Michael (Sandy) Magyar of Bellevue, Richard (Becky) Magyar of Norwalk, William E. (Val) Magyar of Bellevue, Mary Magyar of Bellevue, Verna (Lew) Bunch of Stafford, Va., Theresa (Dave) Cline of Lexington, Ohio, and Karen (Doug) Lumsden of Canfield, Ohio; 19 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Maryann Pliszka of Newton Falls, Ohio; and brother, Joseph Magyar of Orlando, Fla.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Harriet Connelly.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Thursday in Auxter Funeral Home, 1105 Castalia St., Bellevue. His funeral mass will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Immaculate Conception Church, Bellevue; the Rev. Jonathan Wight will officiate. Burial will follow in Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
