Q: Some years ago while remodeling a house I bought from my grandmother, I found a box of letters in the attic appearing to be from WWII. Included was a Bronze Star medal, medal of efficiency, a German cross and other military bars. I would like to return them to this man's family but don't know where to go for help. - Brian on Woodlawn Ave.

Q: I have been out by Mulvin Farms on Perkins Avenue several times and they do not have their stand open yet. I was just wondering if they are going to have it open? It is very nice to go out there and get some home grown vegetables from local gardens. - Karen from Sandusky

Q: I'm not sure if you drive through Huron or not, but can you tell me why ODOT or the street department hasn't marked the lanes better on the bridge over the Huron River on Cleveland Road/Route 6? The middle line is the most important, and young drivers or out of town visitors taking up both lanes is very dangerous. It would be nice to see where you are driving. - Rebecca in Huron

Q: Why is the old McDonald's lot on U.S. 250 all grown up with 3- to 4-foot-tall weeds? It just looks bad. - John on Neill Drive.

Dear Mailbag, the overhead electronic signs that are placed at both on ramps on the Edison Bridge are not working. They cost tens of thousands of dollars at taxpayers' expense. Why haven't they been working for over a year?

Q: Mailbag, The city has an ordinance concerning animated signs. Recently two churches that are in residential neighborhoods have installed animated signs. One is at Columbus Avenue near Perkins and the other is in the Old IAB club. I wonder if these religious institutions obtained the proper conditional use permit for said signs. The one on Columbus Avenue is very distracting, because the church has been using very rapid animation that draws drivers' eyes off the road. Thanks - Bill on Boalt Street
