Q: Who is responsible for putting sidewalks from the Breakers Express to Cleveland Road? This is usually muddy. It would be nice for the guests or Fifth Street residents to be able to walk to the Thirsty Pony or TGI Fridays without having to walk through mud. Why aren't sidewalks required? Bill from Fifth Street
Q: I am one of those who is dead set against Bike Week. It's bad enough we have to dodge the tourists all the time, then we have to dodge the bikers. I saw the downtown area was clogged with motorcycles during the event. It seems to me that this event benefits only a few and is nothing more than one big party. How does this benefit the area? Thanks - Ron from North Forest Drive
I am wondering why Perkins Police are purchasing a shepherd from Germany instead of staying local and purchasing a shepherd from Northcoast K9 in Monroeville. It seems to me that this would be much more cost effective than buying one from Germany and flying it to the States. - Rose from Milan
Q: Why doesn't the city take those two lifts they have sitting in the city parking lot and use them to paint the boarded windows in downtown Sandusky? The flaking, peeling and faded paint on the cheap plywood makes the downtown depressing. Spruce it up already! -Cheryl on LaSalle Street
Q: What is going on at the Erie County owned property on Huron-Avery Road? A new satellite court house was proposed a few years ago. Land was also rezoned for an industrial park near the court house property. The Erie County commissioners had interested parties to construct these businesses with "high tech" jobs. Where is this going?
Q: I've noticed a large increase in people driving the wrong way on W. Boalt Street. Is it possible for the city to paint a "stopping bar" all the way across the street where it meets Columbus Avenue, and maybe put blinking LED lights on the "Do Not Enter" signs? - Bill on Mother Earth (Sandusky)
Q: Isn't there an ordinance or law in the city of Sandusky that states that dog owners have to clean up after their dogs while walking them? There are plenty of people in my neighborhood that don't have dogs but are cleaning up dog mess from their yards. - Lucy from Wayne Street.
Can you please find out what is going on with the Nuesse case? I would like to know if the case is even on the docket yet or how far down it is on the docket and whether there is any kind of news to report. - Sharon and Fifth Street
Q: I would like to know why the guys out striking are allowed to have fire barrels, but we as Sandusky residents are not allowed to have fires or fire pits in our yards. I thought open fires were canned in city limits. - Thom
Q: I've noticed an influx of SUVs being used by police departments all over the state. Often these large SUVs are only carrying one police officer, and very seldom equipped to handle an offender in the back. In an economy with sky-high gas prices and limited budgets, how does the Erie Couny Sheriff's Department justify the use of these gas-guzzlers? -- Mike from McDonough St.
Q: Since Erie MetroParks created such a debacle of the greenway project, and the cost is astronomical, why don't they just cut their losses, admit they were wrong, and give the property back to the original homeowners? - Jane in Perkins Township
