When I can't get all of a news organization's news online, it annoys me. I mean, I know they have it, and I know they have a computer, and I'm a subscriber, so why won't they give it to me?

According to the Alzheimer’s Association Web site, it is estimated that as many as five million people in the U.S. are living with Alzheimer’s disease. That includes 13 percent over the age of 65 and nearly 50 percent who are 85 and older.

Last Friday I took my two sons to say hello to my wife during her lunch. As we were getting out of my car I looked up over downtown Sandusky and saw something I hadn't seen before. A bald eagle was soaring above the shoreline.

I have covered my share of fires while working here at the Register. Some have been homes, some have been cars and boats, and even an occasional scoreboard fire. (See small photo to the right)

I was driving back from assignment in Norwalk a couple weeks ago and came upon a car parked in front of a house. It caught my attention because the nose of the car was much lower than it should have been even if the car was tricked out with lower suspension.

Our online producer and fellow photojournalist Abigail Bobrow approached me about a blog topic today and I'm glad she did.

I'm not talking about the Glenn Frey and Don Henley Eagles, they came back in 1994.

I'm talking about the pair of American Bald Eagles that take up residence in a tree behind the Old Dutch Tavern in Perkins Township.

I wanted to get this in much closer to the holiday season, but with the busy work schedule, filling in for vacations and taking my own vacation time, I guess this is better late than never.
