HURON A 47-year-old New London man who nearly caused several motorists to crash on U.S. 6 was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Bradford Lee, first block of Fitchville River Road, was traveling west in the eastbound lane in downtown Huron on U.S. 6 near Williams Street, according to a Huron police report.

Hayes Avenue resembled a pinballgame Thursday afternoon with a multi-vehicle crash amid the construction cones. Roger James, 57, 200 block E. Market St., drove the wrong way down the street in an Astro van and hit two vehicles just outside the south campus of Firelands Regional Medical Center. Police said he narrowly missed two other vehicles.

SANDUSKY Sandusky police are investigating a suspected stabbing that occurred Thursday evening in an apartment at 3205 W. Monroe St. They were called out to Apartment 2, in a small complex with two wooden sail boats on the front of the building and the waters of Sandusky Bay visible from the back door.

It took the jury less than three hours to convict Steven Rodvold of murder in the shooting death of his father. It took a judge a day to determine Rodvold should be in prison for at least 18 years before he's eligible for parole.
