The city demolished his Madison Street home years ago. But Jack Huber, the homeowner, still owed $27,000 in back taxes. So the city offered him a deal: Give the property to the city's land bank program, and in return, his taxes will be forgiven. Huber seemed interested. He signed a document giving Sandusky workers permission to survey his property.

Hey, John Eymann: $50,000 is a pretty generous offer. Take it and go away. That's what the city of Sandusky might be prepared to offer as a settlement to the developer of the late and unlamented Marina District project, and it's half of the check Eymann said was a good faith deposit he wants back.

Two weeks ago, the Sandusky City Commission, following the lead of area political subdivisions, voted to rescind two year old legislation supporting the Vermilion River scenic designation. Save our Shoreline Parks is very concerned the public's protection and rights to enjoy Lake Erie's shoreline is under attack.
