Erie County Sheriff's deputies said a 15-year-old Toledo boy may be charged with rape after an incident Saturday involving a 12-year-old Toledo girl. Both children are from Toledo but were in Erie County to play in a basketball tournament in Norwalk.

Early last Sunday morning a noise complaint drew several Huron police officers to a home in the 300 block of Wheeler Drive. The officers believed they saw underage people drinking alcohol both inside and outside the house, Huron police Chief John Majoy said. Upon entering with a search warrant, police charged five adults and two juveniles with underage drinking, Majoy said.

Port Clinton Municipal Court Judge Fritz Hany is going straight to the horse's mouth. Hany has pushed back sentencing Robin Vess, 54, on 42 counts of animal cruelty from June 4 to July 16 so he can personally view the horses seized from the Oak Harbor resident.

The Sandusky post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is reporting high water in the area of Ohio 269 & Strecker Road in Groton Township. The Ohio Department of Transportation has high water signs posted, but the water is deeper than it appears, the patrol said. A trooper is standing by until ODOT closes the road.
