I was wondering how many days do you have to wait to pick up a lost item that you turned in to the police department if no one claims the lost goods? I know there has to be some type of statute. I was told that I could not claim the item in question that I don't own it so the the department donates it to charity. The department does not own it either. I would have first dibbs. Something sounds fishy about this. Anonymous via email
