Dozens of law enforcement officers from all around the area competed in handgun, tactical rifle and shotgun top-shot competitions at the event to raise money for the Dunn family.

Andrew Dunn was shot and killed in the line of duty earlier this year. The memorial competition is the latest attempt to support the family he left behind.

If it was open to the public, it probably would be still going on.  Be realistic!

Centauri, what are you posting about?  I am not having any problems.  The blog has returned to a word verification again and that is all I can see.

I do agree more money would be generated if they opened this competition to the public.  It is like a paper plate Turkey Shoot.  The more people who want to spend money, the more they can make for the Dunn family.  I am extremely impressed someone thought of this fund raiser, planned it, and made arrangements to make it a success.  This fund raiser was closed to LE because they did not want to risk any of the riff-raff who support the KILLER to show up.  This also helps officers from the entire area to come together for a great cause.  I am very grateful they are doing this.  It helps supplement the Dunn family and it helps with the marksmanship of our very own LE.  The more practice, the better.  Great job!  I am happy the LE community continues to remember and support the Dunn family.

I tried to post TWICE but my comment was lost

Goofy newspaper site

I am not about to write a lengthy comment over again but in a short comment, civilians should have been invited to raise more funds. Many civilians can shoot better than the police.

I previewed my comment and it seemed to be to my satisfaction

I then post my comment but get the message "To complete this form, please complete the word verification below."

I have already used the word verification

The Sandusky Register has some serious issues with their site.

How do the many spammers get through?

Why only the police? Civilians could have joined in also. Some civilians can shoot better than the police.

More money could have been raised for the Dunn family by inviting the public to shoot also

I would have participated
