The legal dispute between Erie County auditor-elect Rick Jeffrey and incumbent Tom Paul will continue for another month. Judge Richard Markus of the county's common pleas court ruled the board of elections must provide documents relating to the election in which Jeffrey won by seven votes.

After sleeping on it and studying the election returns from a close contest, Republican Jeff Krabill now concedes that he lost. Krabill, the Republican nominee in the House District 80 race, phoned incumbent state Rep. Dennis Murray, D-Sandusky, on Wednesday to congratulate him and then issued a statement conceding Murray had won.

A few hundred votes will determine the next Erie County auditor. About 700 provisional votes must be inspected. Depending on how many of those are considered valid and thus counted and how those people decided to vote, Republican challenger Rick Jeffrey could lose his view from the top he had on Election Day.

Huron County elections workers had to remake 100 paper ballots Tuesday night because voters didn't follow instructions and the ballots didn't scan properly, elections board deputy director Tom Gerrity said.

Huron County elections workers had to remake 100 paper ballots Tuesday night because voters didn't follow instructions, elections board deputy director Tom Gerrity said. In most cases they didn't fill in the ovals properly - marking them with a simple line or check, which means they won't be scanned in properly.

Marcy Kaptur, D-Toledo, defied the nationwide trend and cruised to a comfortable victory Tuesday night over Republican challenger Rich Iott, a Toledo businessman, according to unofficial election results. Across the nation, many Democratic U.S. Representatives lost their seats to Republican challengers.
