Joyce M. Kindred, 78, of Clyde, died on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, in the loving care of her family.
Joyce was born April 9, 1933, daughter of the late Walter and Mildred Naomi (Bower) Cleveland and was a lifetime resident of Clyde. She was a graduate of Clyde High School in 1951 and later attended the Tiffin Beauty Academy. She worked at the Clyde A&P and Vee’s Beauty Salon in Clyde.
Joyce’s greatest love was her family. Over the years she enjoyed RV traveling with friends from shore to shore. She enjoyed camping, horse shows, and horseback trail riding over the years. She was a Cub Scout den mother for years and a member of the Sandusky County Sheriff's Mounted Patrol for several years. She enjoyed reading and listening to country music. In her latter years, she enjoyed weekly “family reunions” with siblings and family members. She enjoyed time on the computer playing spider, freecell, and e-mailing to stay in touch with family and friends.
On July 20, 1952, Joyce married Buddy L. Kindred, of Clyde, and was married for nearly 60 years. Joyce is survived by her husband Buddy L. Kindred of Clyde; four sons, Scott L. (Julie) Kindred of Caneron, N.C., Richard (Jackie) Kindred, of Fremont, Jeff Kindred, of Clyde, and Kevin (Dee) Kindred, of Clyde; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde, where her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31. The Rev. Ray Vance will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made in Joyce’s name to Hospice of Memorial Hospital in Clyde.
