Garry L. Bell, 73, of Clyde, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at his home.

He was born April 23, 1938, in Lyons, Ohio, son of the late Fidelas Roach and Ruth Olena Bell.

Garry graduated from Adrian High School in Adrian, Mich., and served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps and the U.S. Army. He worked at GM as a tool and die maker until his retirement on Sept. 30, 1999.

Garry was a member of the UAW and a former member of the American Legion. He loved his grandchildren and attending all their sporting events.

On June 10, 1978, he married Betty J. (Sanford) and she survives in Clyde. Garry is also survived by his children, Jeffrey A. (Pam) Bell, of Onsted, Mich., and Heidi (Mike) Minnich, of Clyde; his grandchildren, Nick, Tony, Jon, Beau, Quinn, Brock and Bret; his great-grandson Bridger James; and his siblings, Marylou Whitehead, Richard Harmon and James Harmon, all of Indiana.
Garry was preceded in death by his son Gregory Bell; his grandson, Kolt Minnick; his parents; and his brother Robert Harmon.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1. The Rev. Gerhardt Gosnell will officiate.

Memorials may be given to Stein Hospice or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
