In a much-hyped announcement that'll sting Clevelanders for years to come, LeBron James said Thursday he's signing with the Miami Heat.
Cavs owner Dan Gilbert, meanwhile, called James' decision a "cowardly betrayal" announced in a "several-day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his 'decision' unlike anything ever 'witnessed' in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment."

I'm not sure why some people feel the need to slander this man for making a career choice. It was his choice to make, and he gave Cleveland like 8 of his best years, right? Too bad some people must be haters.
I'm happy for LeBron & the Clevelanders who took down the mural should call nine-whine-whine for a WAAHHHHMMMBULANCE - what ninnies!!!

Hey 6079 Smith W, GREAT profile pic!!
IF LeBron James is so TERRIBLE, such a COWARD and is such a TRAITOR, then Cleveland and ALL you Cav fans should be ELATED to get rid of him. If he were so bad then good riddance. BUT, what we have here is a case of SOUR GRAPES! Did they pay LeBron a lot of money? Absolutely. He has a talent and guess what? He is in DEMAND. So LeBron is looking out for himself and rightfully so. It is obvious Cleveland is NOT conducive to a great working relationship. Even in a UNION town! Ha! Ha! All this "sour grapes" diatribal tirade PROVES LeBron made the RIGHT decision to LEAVE Cleveland and it is better both go their separate ways. WHO wants to work for a team owner who acts like a little dictator crybaby? Hmm, reminds me of someone else in the WH. FL is state TAX FREE. So is TX. I wonder why they are doing so well? Hey, all you liberals and welfare people, WHY aren't YOU DEMANDING to use "eminent domain" to seize all of LeBron's BILLIONS like you do with people who are RICH? Monkey see, monkey do? WHY does he get a free pass?? Ha! Ha!

Oh I fergot, LOYALTY. Dan's loyalty was real plain when he traded Ilgauskas to the Wizards just before the end of the season. That was just business, right Dan? Well maybe LeBron saw how you felt about loyalty and decided that it wasn't a factor! Go LeBron!

Hey, you guyz are looking at it all wrong! LeBron owed nuttin to nobody! We watched him play his heart out for us for 7 years. Sure, he was paid good but he played good too! We all got our thrills.
Dan Gilbert on the other hand is a bad businessman. He lost Boozer cause he was a fool and he lost LeBron for the same reason. If he had called LeBron in a year ago and said "hey look King James, you either sign a big long extension right now, or I am going to trade your sorry basketball butt for one of the biggest deals in history!" Gilbert let LeBron walk away and got nuttin in return and that's BAD business! Gilbert could have gotten a lot of talent instead of the nuttin he got!
LeBron, I will still watch you dunk those balls and make those impossible shots and get goosebumps every time you throw the hammer down. LeBron, your business skills are only superceeded by your skills on the court. I commend you! This should be one fantastic basketball season with thrills on the court that we've never seen before!

If I had millions of dollars, and my job which I loved could take me to live in South Beach or Cleveland, you better believe I would go to South Beach! BUT, the way James went about announcing his decision was all wrong. THAT showed his true colors.

Yet another role model gone wrong. If it weren't for Obama, there would be no role models for the youth to follow. Tiger was #1, then he finally surfaced. Let's look at the message that Mr. James gave the youth from the inner city. 1. You don't need to go to college to play pro basketball. 2. You can get a brand new hummer in high school if you play great. 3. You can have out of wedlock children and never need to marry your girlfriend. 4. People who believe and invest in you and your future should be cast aside when you decide to pout or don't get your way. 5. Loyalty of your fans, a city, and a state mean nothing. So what have you taught all of your fans and every inner city kid who ever looked up to you Lebron? Best of luck in the new city, Hopefully they don't fall for your bag of BS.

One day soon, these large sports organizations are going to be sorry they shelled out big $$ for any of these players..
With the economy in dire straits, it's going to bite them in the wallet. Just like concert tours and movies.
Really, how many fans are going to be able to afford to continue to pay to go to these games?? And buy the merchandise????
P.S. No one is worth that kind of money, I don't care what game they play.

It was clear in the boston series that lebron threw the series, you dont have the best record in the n.b.a. dominate the lakers and every title contender in the regular season then get to the playoffs and lay down like he did unless you are making a statement !!!!! Lebron already knew that he was leaving cleveland and didnt want to bring a title to cleveland !! There wasnt a team in the playoffs that could have beat cleveland and everyone knew that including Phil Jackson and the Lakers !!! But remember when Lebron came into the league and coach VanGundy said he couldnt promise Lebron any playing time because he didnt think he was ready for that ? how long after that was coach VanGundy fired and replaced so lebron could be a starter? so who is really to blame here?? you raise a child with a silver spoon in their mouth and this is what you get !!! i think it was unfair of Lebron to wait so long to disclose this so Cleveland had no opprutunity to get quality free agents though, that shows what he thought about Cleveland !! I feel bad for coach Brown though, nothing against Byron Scott but Mike Brown did a heck of job and what a way to show him how they appreciated him by firing him !!!

GET OVER IT PEOPLE.....LeBron lived in Ohio his whole life. He choose Cleveland 1st and stayed there for 7 yrs with the Cleveland organization expecting him to deliver with no real talent to help him. Appearently he saw that was never gonna change. Who would stay at a crappy job, in a crappy town, working for a crappy boss when they could go to Miami and work for an orginzation that is about everyone on the TEAM not just 1 guy and what he can do for them!!!

Well then, as mom used to sometimes say:

Here's some rotten news that barely made a blip in the media:
"Pending Home Sales Have Crashed To Record Lows, Prices To Follow"

In other words - The economy will continue to stink!
Why not feel happy for James? At least he has a job, can afford the home of his dreams and will be enjoying much better weather.

James was not a true Cleveland fan- Anyone who wears a Yankee hat and Jordan's 23 cannot be a true Cleveland fan. They are both symbols of agony for Cleveland fans. So his lack of loyalty to Cleveland should not have been too much of a surprise. Count your blessings and move on Cleveland.

“Stick a knife into Cleveland's back?”
Have ya been to Cleveland lately? Ya can’t kill a corpse.
James will have much more fun living in a city filled with warm bodies.
Unfortunately, Gilbert’s letter only helps to reinforce the negative viewpoint held by many that Ohio is a state full of whiners and crybabies.
Like in Washington: If you want a friend, buy a dog.
Let’s give two cheers for the newly reformed Cleveland Cadavers.

LeBron could only do so much as a player. He made the right decision to leave Cleveland. The Owner's open letter was unprofessional and eye-opening as a window into this organization. Cleveland fans and the organization built LeBron's ego. The "fans" and media showed their loyalty to LeBron when they called him names and mocked him after the Celtic's series. Patrick Ewing was loyal to the Knicks fans and organization. Where did that get him?? Warm thoughts, BUT NO CHAMPIONSHIP! That organization thought about trading him through his years there. This is a business. LeBron made the right best business decision for his family. When Gilbert bought the Cavaliers, he made a business decision.
Best wishes to LeBron and his family!
