Harrison B. “Uncle Clyde” Fay, 77, of Canton, Ohio died unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, July 16, 2011, in Mercy Medical Center, Canton.

He was born July 3, 1934, in Norwalk and was a 1952 graduate of Monroeville High School.

Harry was employed at Stark County Jobs and Family Services for 15 years, retiring in 1996. Prior to this, he worked at Spector Freight Company and Norwalk Truck Line. He was a member of Friendship Community Church, Canton and North Canton Playhouse, was one of the original Shoestring Players and a lifetime member of the Ohio Country Music Association, where he is a member of their Hall of Fame.

Harry was a country music comedian, known as “Uncle Clyde”. He was on the Roy Rogers Jr. TV show and “A Little Country” TV show, and performed on many other stages.

He is survived by his special family, Donald and Rhonda Turner of Canton; grandchildren, Ben and Brian Turner; three brothers-in-law, John Header of Monroeville, Wilbert Skinn of Norwalk and Henry Bonningson of Clyde; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Iva (Rice) Fay; four sisters, Ruth Header, Beatrice Bonningson, Betty Skinn and Doris Burns Schild (Robert Burns/Russell Schild); two nieces and one nephew.

Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, in Pfeil Funeral Home, Monroeville Chapel, 109 Monroe St., Monroeville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 21. Pastor Doug Wiles of Friendship Community Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Milan Cemetery.
