9:14 p.m. — 800 block W. Washington St., boy barged in gas station, grabbed back of Newport cigarettes saying "I need these" then pushed past clerk and ran out door, clerks gave chase, managed to tackle boy and retrieve cigarettes but boy got away.

Oddly enough the thief now has a clear cut case of assault against the company. Could bring a decent civil suit against the company and possible criminal charges for the clerk. After the settlement he will be able to buy many packs of ports in the future.
