Eph:

I'm with you on this one.

Why call the Police to take care of your kids?

This is abuse of department services imo.

What a waste of an officer's time. I just wonder who called them, the mother because she couldn't control her son, or the son because his mother yelled at him.

Seen it All

You reap what you sow mama!  It seems to me, you should of took his "game" away, until you got him to do what you wanted.  RAISE your kid, don't expect others to step in where you failed.

"mother yelled at 16-year-old son, told him he needed to quit playing video games and get a job."

If it was me, he wouldn't be playing that game in the first place.  You want it?  You are 16!  Get a job and buy it!  This mommy is only going to provide your necessities.

You called the police?  Did you ask my permission to use my phone?  Yes, it's my phone!  It's in my name and I pay the bill.

Seriously?!  Call the police?!  Your child is running your house.  I am the police in my house and I wish one of my kids would act like that...I wish....I really really wish....

I still say that we should start charging for every call the police have to make where an officer has to play "parent" for an unruly kid.  This is getting ridiuculous.  Why pull a cop away from his other duties to play "parent" because YOU cannot control your kids?????

The commissioners and the chief and Ms Ard should really consider passing an amendment that allows the police to charge an nominal fee every time a cop has to settle one of these disputes. Watch how fast it stops.   $25.00  each time a cop has to be dragged off the streets to settle your kids down because they are not listening to you.  Seriously.  This isn't domestic violence at ALL.  This is simply stupid stuff.  You can't take care of your won kids, why make the police do it for you?  But there is NO WAY this is domestic violence.  And I just asked a cop about this yesterday.  It is NOT domestic violence.
