Local police respond every day to heated and unusual situations. The following is one item pulled from the daily police blotter. PERKINS POLICE MONDAY, MAY 28 12:11 p.m. - 3600 block Paxton Ave., wounded dog chained outside with no water and little food, flies swarmed on the animal's injuries, police took dog to veterinarian. For the full daily police blotter from agencies across the area, pick up the Register or check out the e-paper.

who paid for that.................

Not as important as the fact that at least the dog is no longer paying for it... It's really not the dog's fault the owner doesn't care, VERY sad!

It was probably put down or taken to the pound once it was evaluated by the vet. I would like to think that the people at the residence were cited for animal cruelty, have to pay a hefty fine, and are banned from ever owning an animal again. Wishful thinking, however.....

ETA: Good on the Sandusky Police for taking humane action on behalf of the dog.
