We've all been there!! However, I don't think I would have called the police for something so minor. They must groan in pain every time they have to answer one of these calls. P.S. There are other ways to get rid of a feral cat than cat repellent. (Bring on the comments)

Try animal control aka dog warden next time lady!!  Sheeeeeeeeesh, I can NOT believe the things people BOTHER the police with!

" There are other ways to get rid of a feral cat than cat repellent. (Bring on the comments)"   buy some cat food and a live trap. then get a hose and water the cats down. the cats will remember getting hosed down and will not come back. if you can't afford a trap use a box or laundry basket. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyWgvLV63GA

sprinkle a good amount of cheap black pepper where ever you want the cat to stay away from. No chemicals, it won't harm children, or the enviroment (or anything else) and it will keep ferral cats, stray dogs, raccoons and any other unwanted thing out of your flower bed. Sprinkle the pepper around the outside of the flower bed too, critters will NOT go anywhere around it. I pepper my trash every summer because I have some raccoons, skunks and opossums that love to tear threw the garbage. I train my inside pets to stay out of the trash can inside the same way. I never have any problems with inside or outside critters.

I like the black pepper idea. I've used moth balls successfully in the past, myself.

My neighbor had a problem with racoons in his garden & elsewhere. (We'll call him Frank) Frank told me this:" An old farmer told me to take a 8inch pie pan. Slowy pour enough Classic Coke in the pan to just cover  the bottom of pan. Then take Fly bait - the kind you purchase @ farm stores to kill flies in the dairy parlor/feed area. Gently sprinkle enough  fly bait to somewhat cover the bottom of pan. (Similar to sprinkling salt all over.)    Frank then told me, " it killed the racoons VERY quick." And  he added..."I've been told it is VERY toxic."

We used to have a lot of feral cats in the neighborhood. I don't know where they have all gone. Now we only have cats that three of our neighbors leave out at night to roam the neighborhood. I still say that cats should have to live with the same laws as dogs. BTW, I have owned (and loved) many cats in my lifetime.
