Another sad story. This kid sounds like he is a good kid at heart. It is just that when kids are with their friends, they think they have to act like them. Wonder what happened to make him talk to the teacher like this? It seems like he "thinks" he is bad. Hopefully he can gain more self confidence.

repression is the seed of revolution.  the habit has been to talk at kids when we need to be talking with them.

The most important job that a teacher has is to get along with his or her students whether a student is good or bad. This might sound like a tough job or situation especially with the creativity that some students have but that why the teacher is getting paid. Suspension or expulsion is a copout.

The premise that we can punish kids into doing something does not work. It does the opposite.
