On Tuesday, the nation goes to the polls to vote for various candidates, issues and levies. Actually, Election Day has evolved into Election Month, ostensibly to accommodate those with questionable time management skills, while allegedly abetting various forms of election abuse.
We applaud the Put-in-Bay Village Council for the difficult decisions it's made this year in response to complaints about police. Council removed one officer from the force and sought new legal opinions after finding Village Law Director George Wilber's advice inadequate.
I am writing this letter in support of Barb Ansted for judge of the Common Pleas Court. I have known Barb for many years and supported her six years ago because of her integrity and experience before the court.
Many times we feel unprepared to vote at election time due to not knowing the candidates. When this happens, some will simply vote the party line, or lean on what they've heard from someone else, or simply toss a coin figuring that perhaps it doesn't really matter.
