In this blog I'm not going to talk about how my week went (it went OK; holiday schedules are rough). This blog is going to be a GIANT THANK YOU CARD to everybody.

As you may have read in past blogs or stories, Sandusky Register staff photographer Luke Wark is a member of the Army National Guard and has been called to serve his country in Afghanistan.

I borrowed an electronic book from the Sandusky Library the other day, and the experience was so easy I thought I'd talk about it here.

Things are going OK. I know that I won't hit my goal of 100 pounds, which is why I didn't want to set a goal. I am down nearly 90 pounds, though.

I'm still working out as much as I can, but again, work is getting in the way with both working out and my school work.

(Blogger's Note: I asked some of my favorite writers and several friends to contribute to this look back at books they read, and recommend, in 2011. In the end, I had to stop asking people for contributions and go ahead and publish, but please add your own recommendations in the comments.)

Why is the economy so bad?

I'm not referring just to the Great Recession, which has supposedly ended, but to a longer term trend. Why isn't the economy working well for people who aren't rich?

I am in high gear now cuz I am a procrastinator. I've been losing some lbs. here and there. My body is holding up rather well from the constant beating it's taking from the extra work.

10:34 AM Nov 15, 2011

I don't have much to report this week. I have not been working out due to being sick.

It sucks that this has happened to me at this point of the challenge. It is a lesson to be learned, though. Never put off til tomorrow what you can do today!

This past week went well. I am still on a diet where I have to eat five small meals a day. It's not hard, but I just forget to eat sometimes.

I am really excited to see where this diet and exercise is going to take my weight loss. I just have to stick with it and not cheat on it.

When Joe visited his friend Bob to watch the Cleveland Browns on TV, he was surprised to see Bob's dog staring at the TV screen.

"He's a real fan, too," Bob claimed.

Some of the folks at McDonald's didn't like our story in Friday's paper about the dog chomping on the employee's finger at the drive through window, so let's give the Golden Arches some lov
