Sunday's are usually the divided days in the Werling family when it comes to sports. My wife is from the Pittsburgh area which means all of my in-laws are from the Pittsburgh area, which means my life as a Browns fan can be pretty rough at times.

Tuesday was truly a historic day in not just the United States, but in the world.

Regardless of your political party, race or economic status, most of us cared enough to get out and vote Tuesday. And all of us are concerned at some level with what is happening in the world around us.

On Saturday, I went with five other Sandusky Register journalists to a Society of Professional Journalists conference in Columbus. It was our day off. The paper covered our registration fees, but we covered our own food, lodging, bar tab, etc.

Mills Creek Golf Course hosted the Michelle Keegan Memorial Golf Outing Saturday. Michelle Keegan, 36, died almost two months ago after a sudden illness. She was a 1990 graduate of Sandusky High School with her twin sister Dana.
