Having Courage does not mean that we are unafraid. Having courage and showing courage mean we face our fears. We are able to say, "I have fallen, but I will get up." Maya Angelou

All of the second round of the 2014 FIT Challengers met this weekend with FIT editor Brandi Barhite of the Sandusky Register for interviews and the first of many photos.

After hearing the stories of the other contestants, my story seemed lame but, we all are already winners in my book.

We're participating, we're pushing ourselves, we're getting healthy. I wish Robb, Andy, Ross and Ebony the best of everything as we embark on this adventure together.

My biggest fear in beginning this journey is the 5K. I have to admit it, I have never been someone who enjoyed running. Face it, I'm 5'1" short and 54 years old.

I also just quit smoking two weeks ago, but as I've said to friends and family, I signed up for this knowing that the 5K was part of it and I will not quit.

I was supposed to meet with Trevor Tieche of Bodi N Balance on Thursday, but scheduling conflicts prevented that initial meeting. I will now meet with him on Tuesday (barring jury duty).

I will promise him this from the start, I may be difficult and stubborn, but I will give him and this process my best.

I also want to congratulate the past season's participants. After meeting them on Saturday, I can only hope that my group becomes as close as these people have become. And, Tim Rotsinger, you will not have to hunt me down, I WILL NOT QUIT!

Don't be afraid of the 5K, size and age do not matter. You may end up loving running! Give it a try. I know you won't give up.
