Well, here we are again. This is the second time I've applied for the FIT Challenge.
I'm now another year older (54) and still short (5’1”) and still overweight (that will remain a hidden number for a while at least) and still have diabetes looming on both sides of my family and know that the extra weight is not helping me avoid that.
I've been keeping track of my intake and limiting it via an app called Lose It … good app, but not enough.
I've been working out at a facility that, while better than doing nothing at all, doesn't seem to be doing enough to help with the process; not to mention that there is not much in the way of challenges; just round and round the circuit.
I have a support system in place; my loving family and good friends are always there with encouraging words when I admit to the fast food hamburger and fries or I've seen a gain or remained stagnant on the scale instead of losing.
I just need someone to push me in the exercise department and help with balancing my diet and making me stick to it.
I believe the FIT Challenge would do that because I would be in the “public” eye during the entire process. Maybe that's good, maybe that's bad; maybe it's what I need to keep me "honest!"
