Three members of Huron County’s health board showed Thursday they’re willing to take on extra work to carry out their duties.

During Tuesday’s meeting, health department officials asked for three board members to read 55 pages of dry legal language on health department personnel policies. Board members Mary Appellof, R.N., David Hester and William Knapp, the board president, all agreed to read the document.

They won’t be given a pop quiz on the contents, said Katie Spaar, director of community health. But they will serve on the board’s Personnel Policy Committee and be asked to make a recommendation to the board on the proposed rules, she said.
