Thomas Edison, Hollywood star

I had a few days off last week, and I spent one day walking along the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a series of big stars on the sidewalk of Hollywood and Vine streets in Hollywood that honor stars from movies, music, TV and radio.

I was pleased to come across a star for Milan native and inventor Thomas Edison. Edison invented a movie camera and pioneered the film business by making movies, although his career as a movie mogul had mixed results and he eventually sold his film studio.

To view my photo of Edison’s star on the Walk of Fame and watch a video of Edison’s adaptation of “Frankenstein,” the very first film version of the classic horror novel, please see the Friday entry for my blog.
