OSU team colors are popular baby names

About a month ago, I wrote a story about a local couple who named their daughter Scarlet Gray, after the team colors of The Ohio State University.

It turns out there are two other babies with local connections who share the colorful names.

Register reader and proud grandfather Michael Gentry informed me that his son Chris — a 1994 Margaretta High School graduate — and daughter-in-law Christine Gentry named their twin daughter and son Scarlet and Gray. The parents are both OSU graduates. Dad is a U.S. Air Force major, and mom is a former Air Force captain.

The twins are now 8 months old, and I’m sure they’ll both be rooting against Michigan when the two teams face off later this week.

Museum makes progress on restoration of PT boat
Liberty Aviation Museum near Port Clinton is making progress on its efforts to restore PT-728, one of its two World War II vintage torpedo boats.

The museum posted photos on Twitter and Facebook showing the boat being lowered into the water last week in Port Clinton. It was the first time the boat had seen water since restoration began in October 2012.

“The boat was undergoing a series of needed tests before heading back to the restoration building to complete the installation of the underwater gear and interior/detail work,” the museum’s announcement said.

Lucas Greenawald and Amber Torres named their daughter Scarlet Gray Greenawald like 5 years ago. They have lived in Erie County their entire life.
