Thumbs up to U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur, D-Toledo, for seeking $10.3 million in federal funds for improvements at the Ohio Veterans Home in Perkins Township. If successful, the funds would improve electrical, sewer, heating and air conditioning systems at the 427-bed facility.

A very worthy cause but why not request some of the 120 million dollars that is "stolen" from Ohio veterans each year. This is money that is collected from Ohio property owners and is continually not appropriated to veterans! I contacted Marcy's veterans liason (Jacob) and just hope something gets done.
I'd like to know if the Repairs/upgrades had been line itemed and budgeted already in the yearly and say 5 year longrange plans to maintain the facility or is this another case of pork barrel vote buying (I need to do something for the Vets back home wink..wink..)Just asking the question.
Sorry double post.
'Bout time. Thanks, Marcy.
