A lesson in livestock for those wondering

To you people that never raised livestock — I’ll tell you something — the reason they dock the tails on baby lambs is they poop on the long tails.

The reason they de-horn calves is they get very mean with their horns as they grow.

They can and do cut other cows and you have to doctor them, which means time and money. They clamp bull calves for the same reason — they get very mean as grown bulls.

Bob, I find this information very enlightening and down to earth. Thank you for this informative narrative on livestock. Can you tell me where exactly "they clamp bull calves" so they don't get mean?

Matt Westerhold, Can you get this guy on Between the Lines? I think there is something everyone can learn from Bob.

Stop It

Hey, Bob...they also tie two cats together by their tails and throw them over a clothesline to cut down on the strays. It works 50% of the time. One usually lives.
