This boot is made for paintin'

I received a phone call today. "This is RC, we're painting him today," is all I heard on the line.

It was Rick Choquette from the city greenhouse and I knew what the call meant, the Boy with the Boot was going to be back in Washington Park soon and in time for the Christmas Lighting Ceremony.

Here is one photo that I took today, I am going to save the rest for later as I will be out there when BwtB is hoisted back to his perch.

It may not mean much to you, and no one said it has to, but it will be nice to see the BwtB setting the backdrop to Santa's arrival to his W. Washington Street address in downtown Sandusky Friday night. I know my oldest son will be looking forward to it for the first time.

I call it the "Dahoo Dorayz" night in Sandusky as it reminds me of the scene from "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas" when all the Who's from Whoville dance around the tree and sing even though they don't have any Christmas presents.

Might not be a bad idea around here...just enjoy the time with your family and community and not think about how much will be under the Christmas tree this year.

Register photo/JASON WERLING The city of Sandusky's Boy with the Boot should be up by this year's Christmas Lighting Ceremony in Sandusky.
