As you can guess, a photojournalist has to drive around town quite a bit from assignment to assignment. We see quite a bit as we're out on the roads including bad drivers, a lot of road kill, and more red lights than I care to mention. On a side note...there are always more red lights on a breaking news assignment than there are for a scheduled event.
My new favorite thing from the past couple days is the shedding of a sheet of ice from various cars as they are getting up to speed on a major road like 250. Out of nowhere in normal traffic, a shell peels off the hood or the front of a car and flies into the air and disintegrates on the pavement below.
I realize that people should exercise safety and get as much snow and ice off of their vehicles before hitting the roads, but man is it fun to watch. I am only condoning ice sheets flying off of cars and trucks with assured clear distance.
I know....I need a hobby.
