@ Mr. Westerhold:

"Just too much"

Would you kindly care to elucidate, pontificate, expectorate, or excoriate?

Darwin's choice

Should have electrocuted them while holding hands....!

Lil DAB

Kum ba yah, my Lord.

I was very uncomfortable while watching that.
THEY were very uncomfortable doing that.
That was a VERY awkward situation.

( notice that the Repubs didn't sing ?)

The Repubs were busy holding Harry up so he wouldn't fall. That, and listening to Pelosi belt it out. Every dog in Washington probably left.

Stop It

lol...

LMAO!

For once we agree on something.

Truth or Dare

Just watched this on channel 8 news. Understanding now why they sang the song in the first place explains things a tad bit more.

They say body language, facial expressions can speak volumes. Maybe what we were seeing on the faces of a couple of those they showed is their personal reluctance to a forced display of unity? Maybe they felt it hypocritical, not appreciating being put into that position? Just a thought.

All of the words I wanted to use in my comment to describe this, are no longer acceptable and politically incorrect.

I'm only left with, it's just too much.

Finn Finn

Uncomfortable and awkward. I don't understand people who are comfortable with displays like this forcing others to join them. Some people are less demonstrative by nature. Makes me think of Sunday Mass, when the people next to me want me to join hands and raise them skyward during the Our Father. Stop it!! I don't pray like that! If I don't join in, I'm shunned for the rest of the Mass.

(Sorry for getting off topic. I just had to vent.)

Apparently , the Repubs hate being forced to sing :

" We'll walk hand in hand, we'll walk hand in hand,
We'll walk hand in hand someday;
Oh, deep in my heart, I do believe,
We'll walk hand in hand someday.

We are not afraid, we are not afraid,
We are not afraid today;
Oh, deep in my heart, I do believe,
We are not afraid today.

The truth shall set us free , the truth shall set us free,
The truth shall set us free someday;
Oh, deep in my heart, I do believe,
The truth shall set us free someday.

We shall live in peace, we shall live in peace,
We shall live in peace someday;
Oh, deep in my heart, I do believe,
We shall live in peace someday.We shall live in peace, we shall live in peace,
We shall live in peace someday;
Oh, deep in my heart, I do believe,
We shall live in peace someday."

Listening to politician no matter the stripe sing about truth setting them free is like listening to Jeffery Dahmer talk about the vegetables he likes to eat. It not only makes me sorta nauseous but you know none of them have a clue about what they are speaking about.

SamAdams

What, are they all eight years old and at summer camp? Wait. The truth is I thought that kind of stuff was moronic even when I WAS eight!

Such an award is both a solemn and an honorable occasion. Maybe instead of some kind of a "kum-bay-yah" moment, the ceremony might consider the nature of the award itself. The lack of respect, especially under the PRETENSE of respect, is disgusting.

Finn Finn

Agreed.

Stop It

Really?

Exlax should include that tape in their next commercial... as the before picture.

Nice to see this display of unity, celebrating the overcoming of a very divisive time in America.
