“Here is the test to find whether or not our mission on earth is finished: If you are alive, it isn’t” — Richard

•Drivers are needed to pick up children at school and take them to an after school program from 2:15 p.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. An agency bus will be provided on whichever day(s) you can help.

•Office desk chairs, cubicle dividers and office phones are needed by a local nonprofit agency. Your donation of any of these would be tax deductible.

•A local agency that helps foster children is looking for help for an hour or two with a Putt Putt outing in Sandusky on Sept. 14.

•A food pantry needs sorters and organizers. They could also use help distributing food on Mondays, Tuesdays and Saturdays.

•Do you like to meet and greet? A volunteer is needed to work at a reception desk in a local medical facility. This is a great opportunity for students who need volunteer hours since most shifts are in the afternoon and evening.

•Volunteers are still needed this summer to work the Popcorn Wagon in downtown Sandusky. Short afternoon or evening shifts are available.

•The big Rev3 Triathlon is coming to town Sept. 5-7. Volunteer to help at the event and you will get to see amazing athletes and have fun while helping them accomplish their dreams. You will also earn a $15 donation for your favorite charity.

•The Color Run will be Sept. 20, at Cedar Point. This “fun for all ages” race involves the runners wearing white clothes and then being doused with colored powder along the course. You can volunteer to help throw the colors.

•Have something in mind you’d like to help with, but don’t know where to begin? Call us. We’ll help you find just the right opportunity based on your talents, schedule and interests.

"Call us." The Register or who? Providing contact numbers or the names of the organizations may produce more volunteers. Readers may be able to connect some of the dots but not all of them.
