From parking cars to popping corn, there’s a volunteer opportunity for you

•Volunteers are needed to help park cars at a soft ball tournament June 20-22 and cheering on runners at a half marathon June 27-29. Various times and shifts are available. If you have a team or agency that would like to help, each member will earn a $10 donation for their group or favorite charity. Individuals also welcome.

•Are you familiar with the Popcorn Wagon in Washington Park downtown? Individuals are needed to work in it. Many different short shifts are available.

•A local non-profit agency is looking for a treasurer for their board of directors. If you have accounting experience, this might be the perfect opportunity for you to share your skills for a good cause.

•Lots of volunteers are needed to help set up and take down games and other booths for the big downtown Fourth of July celebration.

•Donations of pocket tissues and hygiene items are needed. These will be used in children’s projects that are given to nursing home residents.

•If you have any clerical skills getting rusty, there is an agency that could help you polish them up. Volunteers are needed for filing, answering phones and data entering.

•Volunteers are needed to be peer buddies with students who have disabilities during an eight-week summer program. Hours are flexible.

•Gently used shower chairs and other assistive devices are needed by an agency that loans them to cancer patients.

•Our Electronics Recycling Program is still in full swing. Please call for pick-up or drop-off arrangements for your unwanted printers, computers, cell phones. etc. We accept almost anything with a cord.
