•Lots of volunteers are needed to help with the Wightman Wieber Safety Fair downtown Sandusky, any time between 11:30 a.m, and 5 p.m. May 17. Help with children’s activities during the day. All ages are welcome.

•A local nursing home is looking for volunteers to read to or play cards with residents.

•Like sports? The last weekend in June there is a half marathon at Cedar Point. Volunteers are needed to work at registration, aid stations and other positions. You would also earn a donation for your favorite charity.

•Doing any spring cleaning? Designer or other nice purses and handbags are needed by a local agency.

•There are several programs that need volunteers to help with children’s swimming and basketball programs this summer.

•Are you a people person? Volunteers are needed at a local hospital to assist visitors, patients and staff by escorting and transporting patients 4-7 p.m.

•Upgrading to a new computer? There’s an agency that would love to have your gently used flat screen monitor. The Volunteer Center will also recycle your old computer tower for you.

•Colored computer paper, art supplies, basketballs and hula hoops are needed by a nonprofit.

•A local museum is looking for volunteers to greet visitors and help in the gift shop.
