A candidate's blog

Dave Yost came through here Wednesday, giving us an interview about his Republican campaign for attorney and speaking to Erie County Republican Women.

When I looked at the obligatory candidate site, I was surprised to see that it has a blog — a real one, written by Yost himself.

Just about every candidate Web site has a "blog" of course, but it's almost always a bunch of press releases, written by the candidate's staff. Yost's blog is a real blog, a series of natterings sounding off on various topics, including one unrelated to  his race, written by Yost himself.

Yost is a former reporter for the now-defunct Columbus Citizen-Journal, so perhaps he is more comfortable than other politicians about doing his own writing.

Bonus Info: The Washington Post's Chris Cillizza sifted through hundreds of nominations and did an article on the best political blogs in each of the 50 states. For Ohio, he recommends Buckeye State Blog, Third Base Politics, Ohio Daily, Cincinnati Politics Extra and Writes Like She Talks.
