As I blogged earlier, there has been speculation that Sandusky native Jon Gruden, who grew up a Browns fan, might become the team's next coach in the wake of Eric Mangini's firing.
It's still not clear yet whether that's likely to happen. The Plain Dealer ran a story a couple of days ago about Gruden's dad saying his son would be a good fit for the Browns. Today, though, the PD is reporting that Pat Shurmur of the Rams is "emerging as the frontrunner" for the Browns' job. Definitive news should emerge soon.
