So, what do you think of Palin?

Well, the pick of Sarah Palin as McCain's running mate has given everyone something to talk about, hasn't it?

In my Aug. 13 blog posting, "A Woman for Vice President?" I explained why I thought it seemed quite possible that at least one of the candidates for vice president would turn out to be a woman, even though national pundits were mostly mentioning men.

I wrote, "If Obama picks a white male as his running mate, I would think pressure would build on McCain to pick a woman."

My blog also pointed to Sarah Palin, although that didn't come from me -- it came from a reader comment. On my August 4 blog posting, someone posting as "Sarah Palin" wrote, "Come on McCain, give Sarah Palin a look." My wife spotted the comment and asked if I'd noticed the governor of Alaska posted on my blog. Of course, you can use any name you like when you post a comment here.

It's too early to judge the wisdom of McCain's pick, but the early attack line by the Obama camp that Palin lacks experience rings false. After all, she's the governor of a state, and has more executive experience than Obama, Biden or McCain. My boss, a woman, wants me to point out she has more experience hunting moose than the other three.

The consensus so far seems to be that Palin was a risky pick. We'll see how she does when she speaks in prime time tonight.

I almost found it humorous reading all the lies printed by the republicans. Then I thought "why should I be surprised?" It has been their M.O. for years. Or have we forgot the lies of the terrible weapons possessed by Saddam and the hunt for Osama. I have seen kids look harder for Waldo. Here is a hint...When looking for Waldo look in the right book. I love the fact that people seem to discount the fact that Obama was a state senator for 8 years prior to his election to the US Senate in 2004. How do people come up with 173 days? Are we talking days in session? If so why does McCain not get credit for 1/4 of the days? Or the fact that he practiced and taught law prior to that. Oh wait the PTA, mayor of town the size of Huron and the governor of a state that is smaller then Cleveland must be more experience. Unless you use the Republican line and say it is the biggest state. The funniest part is that people believe that...They are not smart enough to understand that it is only large in size not population. Maybe republicans aren't liars after all. Maybe they are great at slight of hand. Too bad I haven't believed that you could make the Statue of Liberty disappear since my early misguided and naive youth. Do we really believe the line that Obama is Muslim? Even if he was do we think that all Muslims are looking to kill us? Timothy McVay was Christian and so is McCain. Maybe we should confuse the names of McVay and McCain like the magicians do with Obama and Osama. Oh no watch out McCain is driving a truck to Oklahoma City.

was going to co-operate with the ethics investigation because of Troopergate. Now, today the McCain campaign stated that she will not, although her husband has been suppoened. What is she trying to hide? Just the same tricks, from a Washington outsider.
