This weekend, the Ohio Veterans Home is taking part in a national effort to place holiday wreaths on the graves of America’s veterans.

The “Wreaths Across America” event is scheduled for noon Saturday at the obelisk in the OVH cemetery.

Early arrivals will meet in the west lobby of Secrest/Giffin. A parade of participants will cross the grounds between the building and the cemetery.

A brief ceremony will be held, and 54 wreaths bought by local veterans groups will be placed on grave sites surrounding the monument. A reception will follow in Secrest East Dining Room.

“Wreaths Across America” began more than 15 years ago in Maine and has spread to 350 veterans ceremonies across the U.S. For more information, go here.
