If you are on Facebook, here are a few sites to like, if you haven't done so already.
Sandusky Police and Sandusky Fire- Both of the city's safety forces have their own pages where fans can see what's going on at the department at 222 Meigs Street or take a look back at past fires within the city. Both pages update their fans with personnel's professional achievements. Are you a friend or a crazy cousin? Other departments from across the area keep Facebook pages as well.
Sandusky Scanner Live- And if you want to know what the two departments above are chatting about in real time, you should like this Facebook page. The included commentary is entertaining as is the comments from its fans. The site is taking applications for the next taco rock, apply within.
The Daily Dot - Want to know what's going on across the internet? This is not a local site, but has local ties as Nicholas White is the Chief Executive and Co-founder, and former Register staffer Sarah Weber is a writer.
The M.v. Algolake Freighter — This also is not a local site, but if you like seeing freighters in the bay and always wondered what it would be like to be on one, this freighter posts daily. The Register was going to climb aboard during a scheduled stop in Sandusky, but their schedule changed.
Pizza Brothers — The Perkins pizza place at Columbus Avenue and Strub Road has an active business page. They also have a daily feature of giving a large one-item pizza to several of their fans.
We would be remiss if we didn't throw a plug out there for our own Sandusky Register page, like us HERE.
