The object of the game is to lap as many players on the other team as possible. For each opposing player the jammer passes, she scores a point.

If you come to a game, someone will explain the basics — fan, derby girl, non-skating official. It's a great community of people.
Fair warning, it takes some time to understand it all. I've been playing a year and a half and I'm still learning.
