8:49 p.m. — 2900 block Milan Road, base of burial urn stolen from grave site; it was the last one left in cemetery after string of thefts.

Wow...doesn't get much lower than stealing from a cemetery.

Erie County Resident

Hope whoever did this is haunted for a long time.

What the heck does a person need with that?

Many urns are made of bronze ($$$ at the recycling center)...maybe marble or granite pedestal? I would think anyone that TRIES to recycle something like that should need to provide ID and verify where it came from and why. Same thing happens with man-hole covers. There are crooks that steal/sell it and there are crooks that run junk yards and buy it (just as illegal)

Well if they catch them maybe they should be placed in it, end of one crime spree!!!

What a bunch of dirt bags. Stealing from a cemetery is almost as bad as stealing from the elderly and incompetent --- especially when it's not only attorneys and financial institutions that assist, so do public officials.

Jules...damn girl, change the record will ya? How about some Patsy Cline? :)

Or maybe this?

"The courtroom was adjourned --- no verdict was returned ..... and I saw Satan laughing with delight the day the music died."

For some reason it reminds me of the Erie County justice system. For that matter, I believe it would probably fit the entire Ohio judicial system.

Now this is over the top , Why steal at all let a lone steal from the dead , How senseless and disrespectfull not only to the dead , but also the family as well .
I hope they get caught and serve some real time in jail. This is just plain sick

This is crazy. People are losing it. Drugs, or whatever else has led people into stealing things unethical. I believe drugs are the culprit. Agree that recycle places need to be regulated more on what they are taking in.

The same thing happened at Restlawn Cemetery a few years ago.
