If you haven't made cookies for the big guy in red with the beard, tonight is your chance at the City of Sandusky Service Center starting at 6 p.m.

Wendy Kromer Specialty Confections has provided the cookies to be iced and participants will receive a plate to decorate as part of the program. The class is limited to 28 participants and you can preregister by calling (419)626-5886 or just show up. There is a $7 registration fee.

This is the first event for the City of Sandusky's Winter Recreation Camps. A couple of dates to mark on the calendar...

Winter Open Swim: Sunday, December 23 and Sunday, December 30, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the SHS pool (Free)

Bowling Camp: Friday, December 28, from noon to 4 p.m. at Cedar Lanes. Ages 6 to 14 ($15)

Baseball Camp: Saturday, January 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at SHS. Ages 8 to 14 ($20)

Ice Fishing: Saturday, January 26, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Paper District Marina. Ages 6 to 18 ($5)

More programs and information can be found in the Winter Recreation PDF below

WHY would you waste webspace to tell 26 Thousand Residents that 28 of them can pre-register to decorate cookies? ANNOUNCE the FREE COATS FOR FAMILIES, FREE FOOD AT THE FOOD PANTRIES, TOYS FOR TOTS, CHRISTMAS EVE CANDLELIGHT SERVICES, FREE DINNERS FOR THE COMMUNITY.

Nor'easter, great idea. Although I disagree with your waste of webspace comment. Webspace is infinite and if you don't want to read about what is posted above, then don't. Some people might find it helpful.

You can read a recent blog HERE about the Kinship tree program, but it has recently come to a close.

And HERE's another recent blog about where you can donate blood this holiday season.
