Great turnout for Mason and Ann's races

There was plenty of running around done on Sunday and that was just before the races even started.

Ann Van Nort and Mason Adams watched as runners and walkers of all ages walked, ran and rolled in support of their causes. Van Nort's Road to Recovery 5K was organized by Tanya Dvorsky to help Ann with her medical bills and expenses not covered by insurance. Mason's Walk for Childhood Apraxia raised over $24,000 for CASANA (Childhood Apraxia of Speech Association of North America).

There were ten runners who ran in both 5Ks and will not only get a shirt from both races and help support two worthy causes, they will also get a free four-week subscription to the Register. Sandusky Dance Walker Tyrone Doward, (Like his Facebook page HERE) was one of the ten runners.

There are a couple more 5Ks coming up next month that include Running like an Animal in Edison Woods, a pumpkin run for Double S Industries, and a Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving to benefit the Jim Hauser Sarcoma Foundation. I have attached the entry forms below if you are interested. And if you don't think you are up for a 5K and want to be, check out the various "Couch to 5K" programs out there. One can be found by clicking HERE and there are also apps available for smartphones.

Maybe we'll see you at the next one.
