A difficult time for Barack Obama's fans

It's becoming harder and harder for members of Barack Obama's fan club to defend their hero — as least when it comes to his defense for NSA spying.

As I documented in a previous blog posting, the president's director of national intelligence, James Clapper, apparently lied to Congress when he was asked if the NSA is gathering data on millions of Americans.

The president now owns that falsehood. He didn't fire Clapper or publicly repudiate him. Instead, Obama's press secretary, Jay Carney, went out of his way to praise Clapper's supposed candor during a June 11 press briefing:

Q. Is the President satisfied that the American people are getting straight answers from their leadership when it comes to American intelligence?

A. MR. CARNEY:  Well, he certainly believes that Director Clapper has been straight and direct in the answers that he's given, and has actively engaged in an effort to provide more information about the programs that have been revealed through the leak of classified information.

(The transcript is here.)

So, what's James Clapper up to now? Excerpt from a CNN report: "An administration official said Monday that Obama had asked his intelligence chief James Clapper to determine whether additional information about the data collection programs can be made public, part of what the official described as a 'broader effort the president is undertaking to have a dialogue on protecting privacy in the digital age'."

So the guy who gave a false statement to Congress, under oath, gets to decide the contents of the next White House press release on domestic surveillance?

sam, tell me how to answer bullspit.

Typical response from a kool-aid drinker.

Kool-Aid drinkers just want somebody that they can believe in who will do all the thinking for them.
Today’s most obvious Kool-Aid Drinkers are those who believe in the gospel of Obama. It’s startling sometimes to realize just how much self-delusion is necessary to make it possible to believe in someone as inept as Obama.

The recent results show where we are people. The economy can not survive without the Fed stimulus. Without the liquidity provided by the Fed our economy is toast. Obamabots can say look at the unemployment rate, well if you factor in those that stopped looking it is much higher, if things actually get better you can expect the unemployment to rise by 1.5 to 2.0 basis points as those that stopped looking actually engage in the job search. It doesn't matter if Obama or whoever is in office, right now the Central Bank is keeping our economy going, market fundamentals be damned. As the 10 year interest rate goes up our situation worsens, we are paying 300 billion or so on our interest on the 17T debt we have, what are we gonna do if it rises to the norm of 5 or 6 percent, folks are freaking out because it went from 1.6 percent to 2.4 percent. I hate to say it, but the party is over, we are now Rome circa Cesar.

I think that the IRS should look over any conservative tax request closely to be sure that not one penny is granted that should not be granted. Go by the book and do not lose a single cent of the tax payers money

The IRS sent more than $46 million in tax refunds to 23,994 “unauthorized” alien workers who all listed the same address in Atlanta, Ga., in 2011, according to an audit report by the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA).

However, the Atlanta address that received millions of dollars in refunds was not the only address apparently housing thousands of “unauthorized” aliens. In fact, it wasn’t even the only address in Atlanta that was claiming such a situation.

The TIGTA audit report, published last year at the request of members of Congress, revealed 10 addresses in the U.S. that were issued anywhere from 1,846 to 23,994 tax refunds each. Four of those 10 addresses were located in Atlanta.

CNSNews.com breaks down the report:

The IRS sent 11,284 refunds worth a combined $2,164,976 to unauthorized alien workers at a second Atlanta address; 3,608 worth $2,691,448 to a third; and 2,386 worth $1,232,943 to a fourth.

Other locations on the IG’s Top Ten list for singular addresses that were theoretically used simultaneously by thousands of unauthorized alien workers, included an address in Oxnard, Calif, where the IRS sent 2,507 refunds worth $10,395,874; an address in Raleigh, North Carolina, where the IRS sent 2,408 refunds worth $7,284,212; an address in Phoenix, Ariz., where the IRS sent 2,047 refunds worth $5,558,608; an address in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., where the IRS sent 1,972 refunds worth $2,256,302; an address in San Jose, Calif., where the IRS sent 1,942 refunds worth $5,091,027; and an address in Arvin, Calif., where the IRS sent 1,846 refunds worth $3,298,877.

Wanna see MASSIVE waste, fraud and abuse? Just wait until the IRS starts to administrate ObamaCare.

"Look at the Earned Income Tax Credit.

Whether you like this refundable credit or not, the Treasury Department's inspector general for tax administration reported in April that improper payments account for 21% to 25% of total EITC payments in 2012."

(It's called: Pay and chase)

"Take the percentage of improper EITC payments and apply it to the approximate $1 trillion we'll spend on ObamaCare premium credits in the decade beginning 2014.

The math shows that we could see between $210 billion and $250 billion distributed to those who shouldn't get it—because the IRS has no system in place to verify reported household income."

in the words of a liberal icon Hillary Clinton at a Whitewater news conference "shoulda, coulda, woulda the first lady replied. "We didn't"

In actual speaking I do think that wanna is used as much or more than want to. Do many persons always say "going to go" or gonna go?

If a person needs to point out someone using the term wanna then maybe they do not have any factual information countrary to what was said.

A guy like Hatch puts a story out there and other news agencies pick it up. Just like Cheney did with WMD's.

PTBarnumWouldBeProud

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/... Well, I guess I have to ask this question. If we still had the "receipts" from providing these weapons to Saddam Hussein (who at the time was an ally of ours, and I spent much of my time in the service [early-mid 80's] helping to defend Saddam's oil supply from Iran) does this put your mind at ease about Mr. Bush, Mr. Cheney, the British government (and others) belief that there were WMD's in Iraq?
